Intro

Fantasy Sports has quickly become one of the largest industries in America & Canada with over 50 Million people playing various types of Fantasy Sports. What started off as a fun game, has no turned into a huge money maker. Sports websites such as ESPN and Sports Illustrated now have dedicated shows, podcast and news articles about fantasy sports. There's magazines, hundreds of different websites and mobile apps that help users build and manage their teams.

According to the Fantasy Sports Trade Association (FSTA), its estimated that Americans spend on average $556 per person on fantasy sports related cost in a 12 month period. Many people play fantasy sports for money and many leagues includes side bets or prop bets to increase team owners chances to earn more cash back. But many times, people have a difficult time managing their teams and getting the right information to help them succeed. More often than not, most players end up losing money.

Situation

The most common thing that occurs during fantasy sports is playing the waiver wire or free agent pool. There are always productive players sitting in the free agent pool for any team to pick up. The difficult part is when fantasy team owners have to decide between multiple players. How can they decide which player would be the best acquisition? With so many different stats to consider, fantasy team owners want anything that will help them decide which player that will help their team the most. There isn't a way to compare players side-by-side on the Yahoo Fantasy Sports mobile app, making it difficult to decide which players make the best pick ups.

The old way of adding a player

Solution

The Yahoo Fantasy Sports app has no clear way of comparing players. There were too many steps if you were to compare. You would have to click on one players info page, close it then go find another player and click on their info page. There is already a side by side comparison when team owners can view their matchup, so why isn't there a way to do it for picking up players? I simply used that came concept and applied it to the Available Players feature where most of the comparing will be done.

Once team owners decide who to add, they continue on to the normal steps of adding a player. By adding this comparison feature, it'll make it easier for fantasy team owners to make moves wherever they are. It'll increase their chances of adding the better player, giving them more confidence to enjoy their fantasy sports season.
